The founder Julie Wouters is Belgian and mother of 4 children with whom she loves to travel around the world. In 2017, she moved to India to follow her husband’s work, and it was there that she fell in love with blackprinting fabrics, khadi cotton, kantha blankets, the colors and design of the ikat, all these beautifully hand-spun fabrics. Then she decided to meet the artisans and in 2018 she launched a first small production of bags and accessories produced with respect to ancient artisan techniques. And that, combining a contemporary and cheerful design and spirit!

The Holi and Love brand was born out of an ambition, to enhance and spread the rich heritage of Indian handicrafts. The pieces in the collection reflect a certain commitment to respect the environment and people.

HOLI is one of the most famous festivals in India! It is the festival of colors, which is celebrated to mark the beginning of spring. LOVE for the love of beautiful things, beautiful souvenirs that recall a trip or an encounter, like the one I could live with the artisans of India.

Handicraft is very important in India because it is an economic resource available to many people living in rural areas, especially those who are no longer engaged in agriculture due to its massive industrialization. Handicrafts improve their socio-economic status and thus prevent migration to urban areas, often with serious social consequences. The techniques are then passed down from generation to generation and this is all the magic that must be retained.
